Turning Pointe welcome

Donna Dempsey moved to Dubai in 1996 with the intention of setting up a ballet school, she originally founded The Dance Centre in Dubai, later changing the name to Turning Pointe as the school grew and expanded to several studios around Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Initially Turning Pointe trained students only in Classical Ballet following The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Syllabus and gearing the students towards their RAD ballet examinations however today the school also offers Modern, Tap, Street Jazz to Pop Music and Hip Hop as part of its curriculum.

The Classical Ballet training is geared towards the internationally recognised qualifications of The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), whilst the Modern and Tap students have the opportunity to gain certification from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD). The Street Jazz and Hip Hop classes are lots of fun, appealing to the dancer who just wants to dance and feel cool without too much emphasis on technique, syllabus and examinations.

Turning Pointe specialises in teaching students from the age of 3 years to 18 years and welcomes both the student who works towards a professional career in dance as well as those who dance purely for the joy of it and the benefits it brings to everyday life.

The training the students receive at Turning Pointe produces self confident and educated dancers, by focusing on their individual development.
